Former Black Stars German coach, Ralf Christoph Bernard Zumdick arrives in Accra today at the invitation of the new owners of Ashantigold SC, Fortia Limited.
A statement issued by Fortia stated that Zumdick accepted the invitation based on his personal relationship with Fortia’s Chief Consultant Herbert Mensah and will be in Ghana for one month.
Mensah disclosed that Zumdick is not coming to Ghana, as the head coach of Ashantigold SC but to offer technical assistance in what is primarily a four-week break from his position as assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund.
Zumdick who was first recruited to Ghana by Mensah during his tenure at Kotoko and later switched camp to King Faisal when Mensah moved camp before a successful five-month stint with the Black Stars is expected to advise Fortia and Ashantigold on the technical direction of the club.
According to Mensah, “Zumdick is here to impart his wealth of experience at top German clubs to our technical team who are readying to start the league and also revive the Ashgold academy.”
