The Chief Executive Officer of the Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF), Dr. Arafat Sulemana Abdulai, has dedicated an award he has received to key stakeholders and the entire Zongo communities in Ghana.
In recognition and acknowledgement of his contribution to the development of Zongo communities, Dr. Abdulai was honoured as one of Ghana’s 100 Most Influential Personalities (MIPA) of 2023.
The awards ceremony was organised by the Business Executive Media Group, at the Accra Marriot Hotel, Airport City, last Saturday.
The Group noted the transformative, dedicated, and exemplary performance of the CEO of the ZoDF in the discharge of his onerous duties, in particular, the provision of educational infrastructure, sanitation and water systems, community sports and social centres (CSSCs), in addition to financial assistance, among others, to indigent Zongo students pursuing tertiary education, makes it incumbent to commend Dr. Abdulai and the Zongo Development Fund.
In brief remarks after receiving the award from the Paramount Chief of the Abola Traditional Area, Nii Ahele Nunoo III, Dr Abdulai cited the significant support from President Akufo-Addo and the Vice President, Dr Bawumia in the march towards a positive transformation of Zongo communities through development.
He said the establishment of the Fund aimed at enhancing the “equity, fairness, and inclusion” of Zongo communities in the development process, is “changing the narrative on Zongos” in Ghana.
He dedicated the award to the Imams, Chiefs, Magajiyas (Queen mothers), youth leaders and the entire Zongos in Ghana.
He also conveyed his gratitude to the governing board and staff of the fund for their continuous support and dedication.
Dr. Mustapha Abdul- Hamid, CEO, National Petroleum Authority; John Dramani Mahama, Former President of Ghana; Mr. Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs; Alban Sumana Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament; Ing. Clifford Braimah, CEO, GWC Ltd; Mr. Yoofi Grant, CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and Hajiya Abibata Shanni Zakaria, CEO of MASLOC were some of the personalities selected for the 100 Most Influential Personalities Awards 2023, alongside the Chief Executive Officer of the Zongo Development Fund.
The Zongo Development Fund and its CEO have received numerous awards and commendations in recognition of the Fund’s transformative initiatives in Zongo communities.
