The 2008 One touch premier league may have ended, but the dust has no yet settled.
According to Citi News Zaytuna one of three premier league teams relegated to division 1 refuses to let go and has reportedly filed a protest against Real Tamale United for using an unqualified player in their final premier league match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
RTU’s midfielder Kwame Adzagba is this time the player at the center of the controversy. According to the report, Kwame, a Togolese, did not go through the proper registration as a foreign player.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association is however yet rule on the case.
Kwame Adzagba has had several short stints with other premier league clubs including Accra Hearts of Oak.
Spokes person of Zaytuna, Oluboi Commodore is reported to have said the club would pursue this case to its logical conclusion even if it meant delaying the Ghana Football Association calendar for next season.
Real Tamale United remains tight lipped on the issue.
Zaytuna had earlier won a similar protest against Real Sportive and were looking for the 3 maximum points in the final round of matches against RTU to ensure continued stay in the premiership.
The team was 7 minutes away from achieving that feat, but a late rally from behind ensured that RTU won the match by 2 goals to 1.
