The Republic of Zambia has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over all its territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.
This was reiterated by Zambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mulambo Haimbe, on Friday in Laâyoune.
Haimbe’s statement was part of a joint communiqué signed during the 1st Session of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between Morocco and Zambia.
The session was co-chaired by Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Zambian counterpart.
The Zambian minister commended the growing international consensus and the momentum spearheaded by King Mohammed VI in favour of Morocco’s Autonomy Plan and sovereignty over the Sahara.
Haimbe reaffirmed Zambia’s full support for the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, describing it as the only credible, serious, and realistic solution to the Sahara issue.
He also praised the United Nations for its efforts, emphasizing its role as the exclusive framework for achieving a realistic, practical, and lasting resolution to the regional dispute.
