The Chief Executive Officer of Forever Clear, Mrs. Grace Amey-Obeng has urged the youth to leverage technology to create self-employment.
She explained that technology provides a myriad of opportunities and when utilized well would lead to job wealth creation among the youth.
This she believes would provide a panacea to tackling the ever-rising unemployment rate in the country, which many have described as a security threat.
Mrs. Amey-Obeng was speaking at the grand durbar of the 71st anniversary celebrations of the Keta Senior High School in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region.
She indicated that the dynamics of the job market keep evolving hence the need for the younger generation to equip themselves with the requisite skills to survive.
“The landscape of employment is changing, traditional job markets are evolving and new avenues for work are emerging through the use of technology. With the rise of the use of technology comes many changes to how we live.
Use technology, or simply put tech, as your generation calls it to create opportunities, be your boss, and maybe even become the next tech superstar. This may sound far-fetched to some of you, right? It shouldn't, the world is changing and changing fast, and technology is giving you the power to forge your path”, she advised.
The 71st Anniversary celebrations of Keta Senior High School provided a platform to map out strategies to enable the school to attain higher heights and win academic laurels.
The Headmaster, Innocent August outlined congestion in dorms, dining hall, and classrooms as some of the challenges that need immediate intervention.
He, therefore, called for stakeholders' support towards achieving the short-term goal of the school.
“Currently, our major goal is in 3 folds; to work hard towards churning out very good WASSCE results, creating well-disciplined students, and then striving hard to get back to category A”, he said.
The Volta Regional Director of Education, Francis Agbamadi entreated the school’s management to focus on STEM education in preparing students for the technological world.
The President of the KETASCO Old Students Association, Dr. Stanislaus Adiaba pledged the Association's support to improving infrastructure of the school, with an immediate focus on uplifting the state of the kitchen.
“When the kitchen is attended to, our intention is to now look at our staff common room, where the teachers relax and work to prepare lesson notes,” he said
The 2014 year batch was inducted into the KETASCO OLD Students Association.
