The Western Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) will host a regional summit to brainstorm on how to harness and develop the abundant human and natural resources of the region for the benefit of the people.
The three-day summit scheduled to take place at Takoradi on September 6-8 this year, will provide a consultative forum for stakeholders to fashion out a blueprint for the Region.
A press statement to the GNA signed by Mr Peter Asante, RCC Public Relations Officer, said Members of Parliament, District Chief Executives, selected heads of public institutions, representatives of industry and the academia, and the regional House of Chiefs are expected to attend.
Professor Ivan Addae-Mensah, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana and Nana Kobina Nketsia V, Omanhene of Essikado, are among personalities expected to present papers at the forum.
Views collated would be presented to the government and development partners, including various foreign embassies that are willing to support the region's development efforts.
The statement recalled that similar forum organised about three years ago gave birth to a regional education trust fund and regional nurses' awards day that had boosted the region's development.
