Hasaacas Ladies maintained their position at the top of the Southern Zone in the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League following their draw over the weekend against Police Ladies.
The Hasmal Ladies came from behind to draw 1-1 with Police Ladies at the Alajo AstroTurf on Saturday, February 22.
The two teams went into the fixture with high hopes seeking to take all three points after an intense performance in the earlier meeting in Takoradi which saw the security side take the maximum points.
While Police had a strong start to the game, it was Hasaacas Ladies who had the first shot on target in the game. Veronica Baah Kumah fired an effort from close range but it was parried away by the opposition goalkeeper.
Shortly after that chance, Police ladies hit the post after a brilliant attack.
There was no denying Deborah Afriyie in the 30th minute after she followed up on a rebound after a good save by Grace Banwaa to open the scoring for Police.
Hasaacas played a much improved game in the second half of the game and were always on the attack anytime they had the ball.
With five minutes to go until full time, the away side were awarded a free kick after Comfort Owusu was fouled close to the corner flank.
Substitute Sylvia Osei stepped up from the freekick and fired it into the top corner to rescue a point for the defending champions.
The result means Hasaacas still keep their record of losing just one league game this season while they have now conceded two goals across 12 games in the league this season.
Hasaacas now stay top with 25 points with Jonina Ladies rising to second on the league table following their win over the weekend with Police dropping to third.
