A delegation from the World Bank, led by Division Director Robert Taliercio O’Brien, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, on Monday, 24th February.
The visit aimed to discuss ongoing and future road projects funded by the World Bank and explore new partnership opportunities to address Ghana’s road infrastructure challenges.
In a statement shared on the Ministry’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, Mr Agbodza expressed gratitude for the World Bank’s continued support in improving Ghana’s road network.

He emphasised the importance of increased funding and technical assistance to accelerate the completion of critical projects that will enhance economic growth and improve connectivity.
“We appreciate the World Bank’s commitment to transforming our roads. Additional funding and technical expertise will help us fast-track vital projects that are essential for national and regional development,” he stated.

The discussions also highlighted the role of road infrastructure in driving economic progress and regional integration.
The World Bank delegation reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ghana’s development agenda, particularly in the transport sector.
“We remain dedicated to prioritising road infrastructure and will work closely with the Ministry to ensure the successful implementation of funded projects,” the delegation assured.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to strengthen collaboration and streamline project implementation to maximise impact.
The Ministry of Roads and Highways is expected to continue working with the World Bank to secure additional support for key infrastructure projects across the country.
