The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission is worried about recent acts of indecency among women.
The development, they note, has the tendency to weaken the moral fabric of the nation.
Speaking at the 40th annual rally of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Association at Asokore, in the Ashanti region, Alhaj Ahmad Suleman Anderson Naib Ameer III, denounced the worrying trend of women debasing themselves just to get attention.
“They are mixing freely with men and vying with one another in attracting them.”
He added that lately women “find pleasure and pride in exposing their beauty. They are treating their bodies as if their bodies are some kind of commodities available for display for others to freely gaze at.”
The spiritual leader holds that these acts have great spiritual implications.
“Such conducts cannot help to create a morally upright society. It can only create spiritual disease in the heart of men and ultimately weaken the moral fiber of society.”
Speaking under the theme ‘Creating morally upright society; the role of Muslim women’, he enjoined women to use their “veils, which have been prescribed for protecting morality and spirituality.”
On her part, Samira Bawumia, wife of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, urged the women to contribute to building a moral society.
She noted, “women continue to be the significant agents of change the world over.” And one sure way of doing so is by “living morally upright lives.”
