Days before the Seventh Week League game between newly promoted Bechem Chelsea and Tema Youth at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday, speculations are rife over the competitive nature of the game.
There are various speculations of a possible match of convenience between the two clubs because the President of Bechem Chelsea doubles as a shareholder of Tema Youth.
The speculations have been given further strength on the basis that either of the clubs will need the three maximum points to keep its chase on the League title on course.
Whilst tough talking coach Isaac ‘Opeele’ Boateng of Tema Youth has refused to comment on the speculations, officials of Bechem Chelsea have indicated their intentions to pick the three maximum points at stake thus playing down the speculations.
Aside the speculations, the two sides undoubtedly have very formidable sides and could sell out a good game to soccer fans at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.
Bechem Chelsea however seems to be in a better position to win the day as they have recorded some impressive outings at home since the commencement of the League, but will have to undo the tactical and technical know-how of Opeele Boateng and the talented side of Tema Youth to succeed.
The Wa Stadium will definitely attract a fairly bigger crowd for the second time in the first round of the League as Wa All Stars host troubled Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
With both sides entering the game with revenge following their unimpressive results in their respective Sixth Week League games, a fierce competition should be anticipated, though the day could go either way.
Obuasi Ashgold is yet to find their rhythm in the premiership since the commencement of the League and will seek to do that at the expense of Kessben FC at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Anything short of the three points will definitely create more agitations among the fans against the Herbert Mensah-led administration as well as the technical directorate of the team headed by Ernst Middendorp.
Dansoman Liberty Professionals have now assumed the accolade of “pre-season champions” following the low key performances in the premiership after winning the prestigious Top Four Cup during the off season.
They will however seek to redeem their image against League leaders Kpando Heart of Lions at the Ohene Djan Sports stadium in Accra, who are also bent on maintaining their lead on the table thus the clash is sending out signals of another cracker worth watching and the result may go either way.
Newly promoted sides Sporting Mirren and Sekondi Eleven Wise will attempt to outdo each other at the El Wak stadium in order to survive the premiership in their first season.
Sekondi Hasaacas will have a difficult task at hand against Berekum Arsenals even though they will be playing at their favourite home ground the Essipong Stadium.
Gamba All Blacks could be heading for another defeat at the hands of King Faisal as they trek to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Real Tamale United (RTU) will attempt another successful capture of three points this time against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tamale Stadium but expect a tight contest.
From all indications, much will be at stake as the Phobians are also gradually warming themselves into the League and will seek the maximum points to sustain their championship aspirations.
