The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police Service has arrested a 38-year-old unemployed woman, Juliana Danso, for assaulting his 51-year-old husband.
Juliana, who assaulted the husband in the presence of a social worker who was detailed to find a solution to a problem between the couple, is to face court action.
DOVVSU Public Relations Officer, Inspector Irene Oppong said the couple, who had lived for 14 years and had four children including a set of twins, separated about eight months ago.
She said after the separation, Ms Danso claimed that her husband was not the father of the twins, and this led to a series of confrontations between the two.
The man reported the case to DOVVSU, which referred it to the Department of Social Welfare.
On October 16, both parties were called to find a solution to the problem, but during deliberations, Juliana was offended and severely assaulted her husband in the presence of the social worker.
