The Ghana Bar Association (GBA), has dismissed allegations of bias against the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to the Association, it does not set out to discriminate against any one political party or the other.
GBA president, Yaw Acheampong Boafo, speaking in an interview with Citi FM on Monday, August 7, said the Akufo-Addo government should rather be complaining about unfair treatment.
Mr Acheampong Boafo said his outfit is rather focused on being fair for all political parties and individuals, including the largest opposition party.
“Nobody can tell me that the Bar has treated the NDC under President Mills or Mahama worse than under the current president,” Mr Acheampong Boafo said.
There has been a perception of unfair treatment towards the NDC by the Association.
A section of the public has also suggested that the GBA has gone mute and failed to comment on some happenings under the NPP administration despite being vocal during NDC governments.
But the GBA President has described those perceptions as erroneous.
According to him, the Association’s mandate is to ensure justice for all and does not discriminate based on political affiliations.
Mr Acheampong Boafo thus assured the public that the GBA remains impartial and focused on upholding the rule of law in all circumstances.
