Democracy Hub says it will not relent in its efforts in the fight against illegal mining.
According to a protestor, Naa Densua, the galamsey has destroyed many forests and heavily contaminated water bodies.
Democracy Hub began its three-day demonstration on September 21 to protest against the effects of the menace on society. However, on the second day, many protesters were arrested.
Subsequently, the streets were left empty on the third day of their demonstration.
Speaking on JoyNews the Pulse on September 23 on what the group’s next line of action would be, Naa Densua said “We will go out again. You know why? My grandchildren do not deserve to be drinking galamsey water ever.”
