The Wa Central Parliamentary candidate of the Progressive Peoples' Party (PPP), Abdul Rahim Sherif has stated that the party will make education a priority.
This according to him, will be done by ensuring that all children who are of school going age are in school.
Speaking during the party's conference in Wa, Mr. Sherif said a law will be enacted to punish parents who fail to send their wards to school.
The 33-year-old teacher who explained that he made the decision to contest because of the youth, added that it was time for a new face to be elected on December 7.
He said there was no difference between the NDC and the NPP and that his entrance in the race will settle the many squabbles between the NDC's parliamentary candidate, Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, and his biggest opponent, the NPP's Hajia Humu Awudu.
On his part, the Upper West Regional Secretary of the PPP, Felix Pegru alleged that Ghanaians are now living in fear under the NPP and will regain their freedom should the PPP be elected in the 2020 polls.
Inaugurating the Wa Central 2020 campaign team, the party's regional chairman, Matthew Dumah urged the members to recruit more supporters so as to increase the party's chance of winning the general elections.
