A private electricity distribution company, Enclave Power Company has said it does not owe any outstanding debt to the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo).
According to the company, a publication on March 26 indicating that it owes the power generation company some financial commitment does not reflect the current state of affairs.
The said publication which was based on the 2019 Auditor-General’s Report indicated that, the financial obligation to the tune of ¢3 million was yet to be made to GRIDCo.
But in a latest press release March 31, 2021, Enclave Power said this is misleading adding that it “has caused immeasurable damage” to its image.
It explained the issue referred to by the 2019 Auditor General’s report only describes the situation as of 2017 and is fully paid up on as of March 31, 2021.
“Currently, Enclave Power is fully paid up on its obligation to GRIDCo and has no outstanding arrears owed to GRIDCo as at 31st March 2021,” the statement from the company's Customer and External Relations Department clarified.
