Real Madrid cruised to their first final of the Uefa Champions League in 12 years thumping defending Champions Bayern Munich 4-0 at the Allianz Arena and winning 5-0 on aggregate.

Sergio Ramos and Christiano Ronaldo hit a brace each to reduce the Bayern side who were completely toothless in front of goal.

The Spaniards were ruthless on the break and deadly with the set pieces in a game Bayern dominated.

Ramos soared above his markers to head home a corner kick in the 16th minute and increased the tally four minutes later with a diving header at close range.

Christiano Ronaldo set a new champions league record with 16 goals from a single campaign.

He was set up by Gareth Bale in a ruthless counter attack in the 36th minute and the Portuguese skipper drilled home a low shot which Naueur could only flap into his own net.

Arjen Robben had been dispossessed in the final third by Ramos who initiated the counter and with two touches from Benzema and Bale, Ronaldo had been set up for his 15th Champions League goal.

Ronaldo added the icing on the cake with a cheeky freekick that left Pep Guardiola combing his bald head with his fingers in frustration.

The current world best player virtually passed the ball under the feet of the Bayern wall with Nauer completely beaten.

The game was not without drama and emotions. Ribery and Carvajal had nasty exchanges with the French international spotted on camera slapping Carvajal.

Real Madrid will now be waiting for the winner of the Chelsea, Athletico Madrid game in London for a gruelling final in Lisbon.
