A glitch in a newly installed software is forcing the West African Gas Pipeline Company limited (WAPCo) to shut down its plant at Tema to make way for repair works.
Beginning midnight Saturday works at the West African Gas Pipeline is expected to come to a halt for the exercise to begin.
The repair work according to Managing Director of WAPCO Gregory Germani will last six hours and will have no impact on power supply in the country.
Responding to questions by the minister about the need for the shutdown, the boss of WAPCO Gregory Germani said, a newly installed alarm system which is part of a newly installed software is malfunctioning and requires urgent fixing to avoid injuries or death in an emergency situation.
The Company says the recently completed cleaning up of its pipelines, coupled with the installed software is expected to facilitate constant and uninterrupted gas delivery to the Aboadze Power Enclave in the Western Region.
