Queues have officially ended at all polling stations in Ghana where national elections are underway to elect a president and 230 parliamentarians.
Many voters remain in queues in several polling stations strewn across the country waiting to cast their votes, while in several other polling stations, sorting and actual counting of ballots have actually started.
Voting has generally been peaceful and orderly, except for some sporadic cases of infractions.
In the Akwatia constituency in the Eastern Region, there have been reports of a gang snatching ballot boxes from a polling station, but the police were on hand to arrest them.
The incident disrupted voting and virtually suspended it.
Polling centre results are expected shortly.
