You may have heard poor leadership being blamed for much of Africa’s problems. Bad leadership has created the impression that the continent is incapable of solving its own problems, thus the over-reliance on western governments.
With the aim of changing the narrative, VisionBound International, an organization that is devoted to helping organizations become great is now being founded in Africa.
VisionBound was started 22 years ago by Kevin Miller, a retired US active-duty army officer who served as a company commander in the 7th Infantry Division and held many staff positions in Europe and the United States.
But what has the army got to do with leadership?
As a former Army officer, he observed firsthand the power of leadership as a “force multiplier.” and understands the need for strong leaders in today’s challenging world.
“Our mission in Africa is to accelerate greatness by releasing human potential. We believe in the great potential of people’, he told JoyBusiness.
“We want to accomplish three things in Africa - teach companies how to win loyalty, instil inspiring leaders and build winning teams”, an excited Miller added.
Why Ghana?
Ghana will be the first African country where VisionBound launches its operations.
“Ghana is well-regarded. We look at Ghana as the gateway to success in Africa because you have more democracy and bright friendly people”, Miller said.
Mr Miller also lauded the entrepreneurial wave in the country at the moment which suggests the country would have a bright future.
As part of its mission here in Ghana, VisionBound hopes to run a number of programmes on entrepreneurship with the Dominion University.
While in Ghana, Miller would be highlighting in a series of engagements the importance of how organizations can create loyal customers.
He believes a combination of good leadership and customer loyalty can guarantee organizational success, hence his book, “Customers Only Want 2 Things”
