American actor, film director, and political activist, Danny Glover, has urged African-Americans visiting Africa, especially Ghana for the ‘Year of Return’ initiative marking 400 years after the transatlantic slave trade, to pay mind to ideas that will uplift the continent.
He asked them to remember “we are not just citizens of our respective countries, we have to talk about the world and our responsibilities to Africans,” he said.

In an interview sighted by Adomonline.com on Instagram, the actor described his visit to Ghana as exciting.
“It’s wonderful a delegation of African American descendants coming to Ghana... It’s an African moment of 400 years and the questions we have to ask right now include the state of Africa. We are not just citizens of our respective countries where we live now. We have to talk about the world and our responsibility to Africa,” he said to Dentaa Amoateng, GUBA Enterprise Founder. In another post, he mentioned groundnut soup as one of his favourite local dishes when he stepped on the African soil.
