The rivalry between Cape Coast big schools; St. Augustine’s College (Augusco), Mfantsipim School (Kwabotwe) and Adisadel College (Adisco) dates back to many decades.
This healthy rivalry seems to always come to life whenever old students of these two schools meet and Wednesday afternoon in the studios of Joy FM was no different!
As Ghana gears up for the 2017 edition of annual Joy FM Skuuls Reunion at the Trade Fair Centre on Saturday, December 2, Augusco, Kwabotwe and Adisco agreed to face off in a quiz competition to prove who is supreme.
The quiz was to settle the long-standing battle for supremacy between the three schools and interestingly when it was time for the competition, Adisco was conspicuously missing!
With the absence of Adisco, the battle was between Augusco and Kwabotwe.
Barnard Acheampong (of the 2002 year group) and Joseph Sagoe-Pyne (of the 2007 year group) were more than ready to make Augusco and Kwabotwe respectively, proud.
After being tested on general knowledge questions – primary questions - Augusco gave Kwabotwe a technical knockout.
Augusco answered 21 questions correctly while Kwabotwe answered 17 questions correctly.
