Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan came off the bench to score for new club Al Ahli in their Arabian Gulf Cup game against his former side Al Ain.
The goal will be a morale booster for the skipper who has seen little action both on the international and club level due to a recurrent injury.
He was supposed to sign for English side Reading but the deal fell through and was forced to make a return to the Gulf state.
Gyan came on in the 72nd minute scored the fourth goal as Ahli won 5-1 on Wednesday.
