Though many consider it as fashion accessories alone, sunglasses actually play a big role in the protection of eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. This article would inform you about the kinds of sunglasses you need to wear and why.
Here are some things one should keep in mind when considering use of sunglasses:
•Material: Sunglasses are made up of plastic or glass. Though lenses that are made up of plastic are light weight, the ones with glasses are not scratched very easily.
•Sports: There are certain sports like skiing and riding where the players are more exposed to sunlight than normally. They definitely need to wear good sunglasses to help protect their eyes.
•Color: The color of the lenses becomes very important. Using gray lenses is a good idea as this color creates the least of distortion in vision. Green and browns are also good. Shooters and golfers can opt for the yellow lenses as they improve contrast.
•Eye Problems: Eye problems that take place if our eyes are not protected from UVA rays are: pterygium, snow blindness, cataracts, eye cancer, photokeratitis etc.
Always but sunglasses from authorized lens shops so that you don’t end up buying sunglasses that would harm you. Bad lenses can cause distortion in vision which can give rise to a number of symptoms.
So, better invest in a good branded sunglass which comes with a certificate of its authenticity.
