The youth’s exuberance for productive and sporting activities could be a catalyst for their own personal development, an MP has said.
The Member of Parliament for Odododiodioo, Mr. Jonathan Tackie-Komme, in an address of some youth groups during this year's Homowo festival of the chiefs and people of Ga Mashie in Accra on Sunday said the youth could achieve more.
He noted that this year, being an election year, the youth should guard against self-seeking politicians who would try to use them to foment trouble before, during and after the polls.
Mr. Tackie-Komme called on them to be guided by issues and the record of the various candidates and vote for the one with the experience and commitment to serve the people better to ensure the rapid development of the area.
The MP, in a message wished the people a happy anniversary and thanked them for their support adding that, they should unite solidly behind him to retain the seat to continue with his plans for the socio-economic development of the area.
At Korle Workon, he promised the youth of the electoral area who had organized themselves into four teams for a gala football tournament with Dansoman that, he would help to develop the park at Timber Market into a proper playing field for their sporting activities.
Mr. Tackie-Komme who took the kick-off presented soft drinks, footballs and a set of jerseys each to the Brave Youth of Adedenkpoi who were first, Havana Stars, who came second, All Stars of Korle Wukoi, who placed third, Mudor Bad Boys who took the fourth position and the Dansoman Stars who were fifth.
There was a playing cards contest of clubs in the area at Akoto Lante.
Mr. Daniel Okai, Mr. Festus Bekoe and Mr. Joseph Otoo, Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Odododiodioo Constituency of the National Democratic Congress accompanied the MP.
