The US government is hoping to see a continuous improvement in its relations with Ghana in the coming years.
According to its Deputy Trade Representative, such improvements are necessary to affirm the maturing of the relationship between the two countries.
Demetrios Marantis was commenting about the row between the Ghana government and US firm Kosmos Energy over the decision by the former to sell its shares to ExxonMobil.
The incident is widely believed to have led to a dip in diplomatic relations between Ghana and the US especially after some government officials were denied diplomatic visas.
Though Mr. Marantis would not acknowledge the incident led to a souring of relations, he says the US is moving on.
