Unity, hard work crucial in retaining power – Odeneho Kwaku Appiah

A former Afigya-Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has stressed the need for unity among party members and supporters to strengthen campaigns at the grassroots to help the party retain power.

He said unity, hard work, and teamwork among party members and supporters were crucial in the quest to win and retain power in the 2024 general election.

Speaking at the Offinso South Constituency campaign launch of the party, Odeneho Appiah said the NPP would remain in power if all party members maintained a united front to execute the task ahead.

“We can be sure of remaining in power if we all remain united, and by doing so, the NDC would continue to stay in opposition,” Odeneho Appiah said.

He stressed the need for party members to engage in door-to-door campaigns to avoid missing any opportunities.

“Campaigns do not end on the platform; from here, I encourage all of us to visit the constituents in their homes, make them understand why it is important to vote and retain the NPP in power, and by doing so, be sure that this election is won,” he told the enthusiastic crowd.

Odeneho Appiah urged them to desist from voting “skirt and blouse,” where the electorate vote for a presidential candidate of one party and vote for another party’s parliamentary candidate.

Not voting “skirt and blouse” would ensure that the party had the numbers in parliament to execute its programmes, he added.

“The fight in our parliament today is a result of the outcome of our votes in 2020. While you are voting for the candidate, don’t forget to vote for the flag-bearer too. This is for the purposes of productivity and smooth running of our next government,” he stated.

The MP and parliamentary candidate for Offinso South, Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, appealed to the supporters to retain him in power to continue the various development projects underway in the area.

“I am yet to complete a four-year term in office, but when you look around, you realize that a lot has changed in terms of development.”

“Yes, it may not be enough, and this is why I am appealing to you to vote for me and Dr. Bawumia to enable our government to do more for our beloved constituency.”

Other leading party members who addressed the gathering included Collins Adomako Mensah, Deputy Minister of Energy and MP for Afigya-Kwabre North, Mr. Kingsley Owusu Appiah, Municipal Chief Executive, and Mr. Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional Organiser of the NPP.
