Unilever Ghana PLC took away 5 awards from the National FMCG Summit & Awards which was held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, in Accra.
Unilever’s Personal Care Director, Mrs. Nana Yaa Owusu-Ansah was adjudged the National FMCG Business Leader of the Year (Personal Care), and Mr. Joel Boateng, Category Manager for Oral Care and Skin Cleansing was also adjudged as the National FMCG Ultimate Category Manager of the Year.
The Company was also presented with three other awards with respect to its purposeful brands proposition, for which the Sunlight brand was adjudged the National FMCG Home Care Brand of the Year.
The Pepsodent brand also emerged as the National FMCG Oral Care Brand of the Year as well as the National FMCG Health & Wellness Initiative of the Year, on account of its ‘Talk to a Dentist’ programme.

The National FMCG Awards 2022 is an industry-based awards, solely dedicated to industry players and organizations, recognising Africa’s best Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies that have shown exemplary performance and outstanding products and initiatives.
The award is an initiative of Global Ovations Limited. The award platform facilitates the exchange of ideas between renowned leaders across the Ghanaian and Global FMCG industry.
This year’s awards was held under the theme: “Codes of Winning in the New Reality, Sustaining Winning Brands with the New Consumer.”
Unilever Ghana was established in 1992 through the merger of UAC Ghana and Lever Brothers, which had been in existence since the 1920s.
