Unilever Ghana has appointed Mr. David M. Mureithi as its Managing Director with effect from October 22, 2010.
Mr. Mureithi takes over from Mr. Charles A. Cofie who remains on the Board of Unilever Ghana to oversee the divestiture of the company’s Oil Palm Plantations.
A statement signed by Mr. Sampson A. Dontoh, Human Resource Director of Unilever Ghana, said Mr. David Mureithi, an Electrical Engineer by profession, brings 24 years experience from other Unilever companies in Africa most of which was senior management roles in the Supply Chain function as well as General Management.
He has worked in the Ivory Coast and Kenya among many other African countries. Mr. Mureithi has a Masters degree in Marketing from the Leicester University in the UK. Until his appointment, Mr. Mureithi was the Managing Director of Unilever Eastern and Southern Africa. An avid golfer and athlete, Mr. Mureithi is married and has three children.
