The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) has appointed Professor Richard Kwasi Amankwah as Vice-Chancellor of the University.
His appointment comes on the back of the acceptance of the report of the Search Committee by the Council of the University at its 75th ‘special’ meeting held on Friday, August 14.
He is expected to serve a four year term, which takes effect from October 16, this year to July 31, 2024.
Professor Amankwah is a Professor of Minerals Engineering and until his appointment was the Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Management Science of the University.
Meanwhile, the Council of the University has also appointed Mr. Jonathan Sakoe as Finance Officer.
He is expected to serve a four year term beginning on September 1 this year and ending on July 31, 2024.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sakoe was the Acting Finance Officer of the University.
