Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, a member of University of Ghana (UG) Alumni Association Council has been appointed as the new Pro-Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs.
Her appointment takes effect from November this year.
Prof. Appiah Amfo’s promotion was approved by the UG Council at its meeting on October 3, 2019.
In 2017, the Dean of the School of Languages was elected to the Consultation Board of the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA).
She was the first African to be elected to the Consultation Board of the Association dedicated to the study of language use since its establishment in 1986.
In April this year, Prof. Appiah Amfo has delivered an inaugural lecture on the topic Beyond Babel: Communicating in Context and Across Domains.
