Two US Navy sailors were found dead on Tuesday in their hotel room in Accra while on shore leave in Ghana, the US Navy said.
The cause of death was unknown and was being investigated by the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in cooperation with the US Navy officials.
The sailors, who were not identified, were stationed aboard the Fort McHenry, which docked in Tema as part of a U.S. naval partnership programme in West Africa.
During a six-month mission, the Fort McHenry will train West African navies to fight drug smuggling and maritime security threats to the region.
