A mobile money merchant was on Tuesday killed by two suspected armed robbers at Konongo.
The victim was trailed from an ATM to his residence, where he was shot, according to a report from the Police Service.
The unidentified robbers made away with an undisclosed amount of money.
In a Facebook post, the Service stated it is on "a special targeted intelligence-led manhunt for two suspected armed robbers."
Also, it indicated that before the unfortunate incident, "the Police in Konongo had advised all mobile money merchants to close their businesses early as a measure against targeted armed robbery activities."
Meanwhile, the Service has said further details on the matter will be communicated by the Ashanti Regional Police Command "in due time."
According to JoyNews' Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Erastus Asare Donkor, the Regional Police command has promised a reward for any individual who can furnish the Police with information regarding the whereabout of the suspects.
