The Accra Regional police command has busted a car snatching syndicate which includes two policemen.
Corporal Bismarck Ntim, 32; Lance corporal Francis Opoku Gyau, 29, and five civilians were arrested at Kaneshie and are currently in police custody. Seven different cars were retrieved at the scene, including three taxi cabs.
The police revealed this at a press conference in Accra on Monday. They said the gang leader and one other are on the run but the general public has been assured of safety.
They have also advised drivers to install car tracking devices in their vehicles.
