Two people have died in a car accident on the Nakpanduri-Garu road.
The District Chief Executive for the area, Joseph Louknan, who confirmed the accident, said the vehicle was traveling from Gushegu in the Northern Region to Cinkanse in neighbouring Togo.
He said the crash occurred on Tuesday night after the vehicle fell at the Nakpanduri scarp.
According to the DCE, the driver of the vehicle suffered severe injuries but the two other occupants believed to be conductors were confirmed dead. The driver, he said, is responding to treatment.
The Police Service in the district has also confirmed the accident and said plans were underway to take custody of the damaged vehicle as part of its investigation.
