Two local chiefs have been arrested over the recent conflict in the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District.
The conflict which erupted between Konkombas and their Bimoba neighbours resulted in the death of about six people and the destruction of houses.
The two, a Konkomba and a Bimoba have been taken into custody to assist with police investigations.
Speaking to Joy News, the Interior Minister, Mr. Kwamena Bartels said, the fighting has stopped and the area is calm.
He also said the Regional Security Council had a meeting with all the chiefs in the area, and the chiefs were made to sign a written undertaken that, they would assist government to maintain peace in the area.
The minister said the two minor chiefs who have been arrested would assist in unraveling the issues which have been provoking the conflict in the area.
