Well, Daily Post editor, Michael “Trokosi” Dokosi may be entitled to his despicable opinions about the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party all right (See “Newspaper Responds to Akufo-Addo’s Denial” Ghanaweb.com 11/12/11). But whether, indeed, this scumbag of a newspaper editor-publisher has a right to foist his crass arrogance and ignorance on the larger Ghanaian reading public, is another matter altogether.
For starters, having brazenly lied about Nana Akufo-Addo flatly refusing to submit himself to security checks before boarding flights at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), the congenital and serial liar now claims that, oops!, indeed, the former Justice Minister submitted himself to a security check at KIA; and that unlike some of the clinically demented Trokosi boys of Mr. Dokosi’s home village, however, Nana Akufo-Addo had not volunteered to remove his shoes and socks before boarding British Airways Flight 078 to London.
In any case, who gave the Daily Post editor-publisher the right to evidently tailgate and spy on the movements of Ghana’s main opposition leader? This is virulently dangerous and some well-positioned member of the NPP, or better yet, the Akufo-Addo Campaign, ought to be quizzing the government and the director of national security about the same. Unless, of course, forensically sustainable evidence can be presented before a legitimately constituted court of law indicating that, indeed, Ghana’s former Foreign Minister is a security risk to the peace and quiet of the country.
It is also quite obvious that somebody inside the nation’s security agency has been leaking information on Nana Akufo-Addo to elements with absolutely no right to the same. Else, why would the Daily Post editor-publisher so brazenly be demanding a review of every encounter that the New Patriotic Party leader has had with Close-Circuit Television Cameras at the Accra airport? It is also rather amusing that Mr. “Trokosi” Dokosi would cavalierly claim that Nana Akufo-Addo has virtually no character left to assassinate, even as he continues to accuse the former Abuakwa-South MP of being a drug addict – and even a pusher – without providing any forensically incriminating evidence to prove his accusations. Needless to say, arrant f**ls like Mr. “Trokosi” Dokosi ought not to be accorded the kind of attention that only respectable media operatives and practitioners deserve.
You see, my dear reader, if your rabid hater and serial accuser has absolutely no idea that Oxford University is not a member of the U.S. Ivy League academic establishment, how can the same ignoramus also credibly claim to be in possession of any meaningful evidence pointing to the fact of Nana Akufo-Addo having been discharged or expelled from the same globally renowned academy on extra-curricular grounds? Of course, such criminal mendacity has prime capital in the woebegone land of the Trokosi people; but in Fourth-Republican Ghana, it is the sort of fairy tale that one regales the mentally retarded.
