Since people can guess how old a woman is by looking at her hands, it’s important to keep our hands looking young as long as possible. Hands are highly susceptible to the first signs of aging, and they often age faster than the face. Even if you use a super expensive anti-aging hand cream, it’s not enough to keep your hands healthy and young. If neglected, your hands can look 10-20 years older than they should be. Fortunately, there are some effective ways to make the hands look years younger that really work. With just a little effort, your hands will look more beautiful and younger instantly.
1. Lukewarm water
Perhaps you have been told that it’s better to wash your hands with hot water since it helps to kill bacteria, however, that is the worst thing you can do for the skin of your hands. Hot water strips oils from the skin of your hands quicker than warm water and your hands dry out more often. Always wash your hands with warm water and use the soap that is good for you.
2. Olive oil
One of the best tricks I use to keep my hands looking younger is applying olive oil daily. Olive oil is an accessible and luxury way to make your hands look years younger. Get a bottle of Italian olive oil and slather up your hands on a regular basis. You can go up to your elbows for the best result. Italian olive oil typically doesn’t have preservatives and chemicals added to it, and it’s good not only for your hands, but also for the whole body.
3. Cotton gloves
A good moisturizing lotion and a pair of cotton gloves of high quality are must-haves when it comes to making hands look younger. Massage a good layer of lotion deeply into your skin and slip on cotton gloves before going to bed. If you do it regularly, your hands will always look soft, beautiful and young.
4. Moisturizer
To keep your hands look gorgeous you need to clean them gently and moisturize deeply every single day. Buy a high quality moisturizer that works best for your skin type, and if you need help, consult a dermatologist, a drugstore beauty counter expert or your friends. They can help you to choose the most effective moisturizer for your hands.
5. Rubber gloves
Gloves help protect your hands from hot water that you use for cleaning and from those harsh chemicals that most household cleaners contain these days. Wearing rubber gloves around the house will ensure your hands are safe and happy. Never wash your dishes without gloves!
6. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is essential for the whole body, not only for your hands. Using it regularly will help your hands stay looking beautiful and young and avoid the wrinkles and age spots. Sun is a natural source of vitamin D, so don’t try to avoid it in order to protect your skin. The best solution is a high quality sunscreen. Apply it frequently when you are outside (especially if you are lying on the beach in the sun) whether your sunscreen waterproof or not.
7. Mani
A good manicure is something every woman should do regularly to keep her hands looking younger. It’s not always possible for you to go to the nail salon for a perfect mani, because you may not have money or time, but you can easily do it at home. You can even ask your friend to help you. Pay attention to the nail colors you choose. It shouldn’t accent your years. Try to go for more natural colored nail polishes, which will help make your hands appear a bit younger.
When your hands look young and beautiful, your confidence level is higher when you meet new people, and your attitude is excellent when you want to look gorgeous. The majority of women start caring for their hands after their 30s or even 40s, when they see the first signs of aging. But the earlier you start following these seven tips, the younger your hands will be in your 50s. How do you keep your hands looking young? Share your secrets, ladies.
