Registrars of Traditional Councils in the Ashanti Region at the weekend held their mid-year review meeting in Kumasi to take stock of their activities and adopt effective measures to improve their performances.
The meeting attended by 21 registrars is also aimed at adopting pragmatic approaches to enhance their work.
In an address, Mr Kwasi Asare Ankomah, Registrar of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs said the mid-year review meeting concept was introduced last year to help evolve strategies to ensure efficiency in the administration of the traditional councils.
He said though the initiative had significantly improved their performances, the unavailability of facilities continued to hamper their efforts to make the Chieftaincy Institution very formidable.
Mr Ankomah appealed to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture to adequately resource the traditional councils to enable them discharge their duties very effectively.
He further entreated the participants to defy the numerous challenges facing them and give-off their best to uplift the image of the Chieftaincy institution.
Miss Lilian Bruce-Lyle, Chief Director of the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture commended them for the initiative, adding that her Ministry would provide the necessary assistance to the house.
She urged them to work in accordance with the Civil Service Code of Ethics to ensure efficiency in the day-to-day administration of the House.
The Chief Director noted that the institution is a reputable body and advised them to work diligently to maintain its credibility, adding that it would not hesitate to complement their efforts.
