The National Award Winners Association has just announced the award of a tractor and its accessories for President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The Award, according to a spokesman of the association, is to help the president, who leaves office in about two months after serving two terms, to retire into Agriculture, 'just as Mr. Kofi Annan (former UN Secretary General) retired into Agriculture.
The Award was announced at the national cerebration of farmers, National Farmers Day, at Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo Region.
President Kufuor received the keys to the tractor and expressed gratitude for the gesture. He promised to follow the farmers' cue and to invite them soon after his retirement, to visit his farm.
