Ghanaian players in Europe resumed action after the international break. The break served as an extra resting period for most of the Ghanaian players because of the lack of activity with regards to the national team. Joy Sports Owuraku Ampofo picked these five standout players from the weekend.

Andre Ayew – Swansea City

The Ghana captain scored the opening goal of the game against Barnsley.

Swansea couldn’t hold on as they shared the points but Ayew’s performance saw him win the man of the match award.

Dede Ayew has been very key to Swansea’s impressive performances in the Championship as he has contributed to six goals (three goals and three assists) this season.

Kasim Nuhu – Fortuna Düsseldorf

Fortuna Düsseldorf got a crucial win over the weekend against relegation rivals Mainz. Nuhu played in a back three as Düsseldorf got their first clean sheet of the season.

The 24-year-old won four aerial whilst he had 82 touches of the ball with a pass completion rate of 83%.

Iddrisu Baba Mohamed – RCD Mallorca

The central midfielder demonstrated a tireless display that helped Real Mallorca defeat Real Madrid 1-0 in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday evening.

Mohammed, who recently signed a new deal to keep him at Mallorca until 2024 was very impressive on the night. His industry in the middle of the park kept the Madrid midfield at bay.

Samuel Tetteh – LASK Linz

The winger scored the final goal to seal a convincing victory for LASK Linz as they beat SV Mattersburg 7-2 in the Austrian Bundesliga over the weekend.

Tetteh, 23, has now scored five goals this season as LASK close the gap on table toppers Red Bull Salzburg.

Alfred Duncan – Sassuolo

Despite failing to pick any points on the day, Sassuolo players had their heads held up high after battling it out with title contenders Inter Milan.

Duncan, who has been instrumental from midfield this season, continued to impress as he assisted Jeremie Boga’s goal.

The former Inter man has now registered five assists and one goal in just five league appearances this season.
