Ghana’s Sulemanu Tetteh has booked a place in the last 16 of the Men's boxing Flyweight Division at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Black Bombers skipper beat Marte De La Rosa of the Dominican Republic in the early hours of Monday morning.
Tetteh started slowly but he rallied in the final three sets, mounting relentless pressure and showing great technique to secure victory and a place in the last 16.
Sulemanu Tetteh will face Cuban Yosvany Veitía in the last 16 on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
Ghana’s other pugilists at the games, Samuel Takyi and Shakul Samed will mount on Wednesday after they both drew a bye in the preliminary round.
