The 2024 edition of the Luv FM and Nhyira FM Health and Fitness Walk has lived up to expectations as thousands of excited patrons joined the exercise in Kumasi.
Individuals, schools, groups, and staff of some corporate institutions trooped to the Kumasi Mall for the exercise.
The nine-kilometer fitness walk started from the Kumasi City Mall through to Nhyieso and Adum. The participants then descended to Asafo, Amakom through the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and back to the Mall.
The 2024 edition took off with an aerobic session with participants walking through the streets of Kumasi.
“We have come to enjoy this year’s edition so much. It has been an awesome experience joining the fitness walk for the second time. I am happy and my family is also happy to have joined” a participant said.
Another also said, “Luv/Nhyira Fm have taken over Kumasi today with the fitness walk. I am very excited looking at the number of people I have seen. Seeing my old friends from Senior High School today is the best out of it all”.
This year’s edition saw some Senior High Schools including St. Louis Girls SHS and Kumasi Technical Institute, happily involved.
“This is our first time and it looks as if we have missed a lot from the previous editions. My girls are enjoying the moment which is always part of our SRC Week celebration” Senior Girl a Prefect Of St. Louis SHS said.
The fitness walk has arguably become the biggest health and wellness program in the Ashanti Region.
Sponsors of the Luv/Nhyira FM Fitness Walk treated participants to meals and other giveaway packages.
“This is a good chance for us in the corporate environment to exercise so we always cherish this moment. While we work on our health, we are also getting to interact with prospective clients. This is because Luv/Nhyira and the entire Multimedia group made it happen” a rep from Zest Consult said.
The Luv/Nhyira Fm Fitness Walk coordinator, Eric Inkoom, said he is impressed with the turnout. He appreciated sponsors and patrons for making the event a success.
