Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, said Thomas Partey would be out for “a few weeks” after sustaining a muscle injury on Monday, October 23.
After being out for 30 days with a groin injury and missing six games, Partey came off the bench to play 16 minutes in the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Manchester City.
He then went on to feature in all two games for the Black Stars in the international break against USA and Mexico before being an unused substitute for Arsenal in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea.
The 30-year-old was expected to start against Sevilla in the Champions League but got injured in the eve of the game.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday, Arteta confirmed Partey will be out for a few weeks.
"He’s got a muscle injury and we are expecting him to be out for a few weeks," said Arteta.
"We don’t really know the extent of it and he has more tests today but he picked up that injury in a training session with the last kick of the ball before Sevilla, so very unfortunate," he added.
Thomas Partey has featured in four games for Arsenal this season.
