Hearts captain Thomas Abbey is eyeing a trophy-laden end for the Phobians in the concluding part of the season.

The Phobians are in the hunt for a league and cup in what they will perceive as a relatively good season under Scottish coach Frank Nuttall.

Abbey has been one of the brightest spots in the team leading Hearts goal scoring charts in the league with 12 goals.

His impressive form has propelled Hearts to third on the league log, just four points behind leaders Aduana Stars and for the captain, the title is within reach.

“I think we’re still on course, we’re still in the title race. We picked a point against Kotoko and we are happy about it,” he told Asempa Sports.

“We are playing our next game against Olympics and it will be difficult because it is a derby game. We will try our best to score them. Once we score them we will continue to be in a good position to still win the league.”

The Phobians are also in the semi-final of the MTN FA Cup but Abbey feels they team will be more realistic in gauging their expectations.

“We would like to win both the league and the FA Cup. However, to be realistic it may not be possible so we will look at our chances and decide.”

“For now, our chances in the FA Cup are higher so we will focus on that and see what God will do”.

Abbey is currently part of the Black Stars “B” team that are aiming to qualify for the CHAN championship in Kenya.
