President John Dramani Mahama has called on the 8-member Constitutional Review Committee to remain committed to the critical task ahead, stressing that their work will have a lasting impact on Ghana's future.
Speaking at the Jubilee House on Thursday, January 30, after swearing in the committee members, the President made it clear that their role is vital in shaping the country’s constitutional framework.
“The task ahead of you is critical,” President Mahama said. “You are not just reviewing reports and proposing amendments; you are helping to chart the course for the future of our dear nation, Ghana.”
He further explained that the committee's mandate is to carefully examine past recommendations, identify necessary changes, and draft a clear roadmap for meaningful constitutional amendments that will stand the test of time.
“This process must not be another chapter in the history of unfulfilled reform efforts,” he added. “It must be a turning point, a moment when Ghana decisively moves from mere discussion to meaningful action.”

Recognising the magnitude of the responsibility, the President reassured the committee that their efforts would not be in vain.
“This will not be an exercise in futility,” he said.
“We are determined to see this process through, and I have every confidence that you will deliver results that will serve not only this generation but generations to come" he concluded.
