The University of Ghana Legon branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy Network (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election as the flag bearer of the party.
A statement signed by Mr Alexander Frimpong, President of TESCON, said it was strongly convinced that Nana Addo Dankwa's election was not by chance but a deserving one because “He has gone through the mill and had been well prepared over the years to galvanize the ranks and file of the party for victory in election 2008”.
According to the statement, NPP can never succeed in any general election without dedication and commitment and support of the youth.
“We are the engine as well as the wheels of the party. It is therefore our wish that the party maintains the goodwill it has in our various tertiary institutions.
“We therefore pledge our unflinching support and declare our readiness to support Nana Akufo-Addo and the Party to ensure victory in the upcoming election,” it stated.
It praised the other aspirants and their supporters for their good conduct following the declaration of the results and implored them to put behind all that went into the campaign and forge ahead in unity for the good of the party and Ghana.
