The Tema Municipal Chief Executive, Mr David Quaye Annang has called for unity among the traditional leaders and corporate organizations in the Municipality to ensure interrupted progress in the city.
Mr Annang said Tema, being the industrial nerve of the nation, contributes largely to the national income therefore any form of disunity or disturbances would have the tendency to affect development.
He made the call during “Homowo” feast organised by the Tema Traditional Council on Friday at Tema Manhean in appreciation of the numerous donations by individuals and corporate organisations towards the celebration of this year’s festival.
The Mayor urged the elderly to impart their rich knowledge and experiences to the youth.
Nii Armah Ashietey, former Tema Municipal Chief Executive urged the leadership of the Ga State to find lasting solution to the numerous chieftaincy disputes as they were retarding development and discouraging investors.
He urged factions involved in chieftaincy disputes to desist from fanning troubles and rather resort to dialogue as it was only one person who would be enthroned after the chaos.
Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse called on residents of Tema to exhibit good behaviours in order to live amicably with the Tema natives to develop the city for the benefit of all.
He said the TTC highly regards the presence and contributions of the residents and employees living in the Municipality and has appointed some as members of their development council known as ‘Tema Kpeshiman Council’.
“The Council always needs to interact with such people in order to tap their contributions in diverse ways towards the development of Tema”, Nii Kraku added.
