Telecel Foundation, in collaboration with SHE HUB Ghana, has organized a digital and financial literacy training for women in the Ashanti Region.
The training, as part of their 2024 Telecel Ashanti Month, is to empower women in vocational and agribusiness sectors with digital and financial literacy skills.
A total of 140 women, including hairdressers and tailors, participated in the training.
Chairman of Telecel Group, Nicolas Bourg, says “the Telecel brand finds it important to support mothers and women with these skills considering the growing importance of vocational skills and financial literacy”.

He emphasized the importance of empowering women, who are the backbone of the family, in this digital world.
He also assured that this initiative will not be a one-time event, but rather a recurring effort to support women in the Ashanti region.

“We will be doing this frequently to help our women. It has become a very important initiative to embark on especially in the Ashanti Region,” he added.
Manager of SHE HUB Ghana, Faustina Opoku, expressed her delight in partnering with Telecel.

“SHE HUB understands the importance of such initiatives which is the main reason why we decided to partner with the Telecel Foundation”.
According to Rita Agyeiwaa Rockson, Head of Foundation and External Communication, “Digital training and financial literacy is an essential skill that must be encouraged among women. I believe this program will go a long way to help shape the thoughts of all the beneficiaries”.
