The Paramount Chief of the Tatale Traditional Area, Obore Gariba Yankosor has endorsed President Nana Akufo-Addo and the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2020 general elections.
Welcoming Vice President Dr Mahammudu Bawumia, the Chief said numerous projects introduced by the NPP has reduced the infrastructure deficit and benefited residents of the area.
Obore Gariba Yankosor believed that Dr Bawumia’s visit and engagement with residents will yield result which will propel the community.
“On behalf of chiefs and people of Tatale, I wish to thank you for the industrious and implemental flagship policies that your government has initiated since you assumed office in this community.
“Some of it which is the free SHS which has relieved parents the burden of paying school fees. For the planting for food and jobs, the one village on dam among others,” he said.
Commenting on government’s Planting for Export and Rural development, Obore Gariba Yankosor said people particularly farmers in the Tatale Traditional Area have benefited from the cashew.
He then encouraged government to put in more effort to solve other issues faced by residents including robbery attacks.
On his part, Vice President indicated that government’s Planting for Food and Jobs programme has improved agriculture enabling the country to export 17 different crops abroad.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia explained that the said food crops are in abundance and Ghana can afford to export some.
The Vice President said there is increased supply of fertilizer, and other farm inputs and they are accessible.
According to him, the situation is an indication of the state of abundance of food in every district for all to eat.
“We’ve reduced the prices of fertiliser and its very accessible. 50% reduction in price is very accessible to our farmers across the country and in every district in this country, farmers are farming more and there is more food for everybody to eat.
