TakoradI Technical University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AmaliTech, a global IT firm to provide IT and digital space training to students and sustainable employment opportunities across the globe.

The memorandum seeks to provide a platform for students to develop innovating ideas arising out of technology research and help build the capacities of Ghanaian students in the digital space in order create real world applications and digital solutions in the world of work.

Addressing the media at the signing of the MOU, the Vice Chancellor of TTU, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun indicated that advancement in technology require that the academia and industry collaborate to provide IT focused training and employment pathways for the new generation through an atmosphere of strong pedagogical approaches.

“This MOU will give us an opportunity to exchange expertise in common areas of interest, and allows for the exchange of academics and industrial experiences to develop competent IT specialist capable of handling technological solutions in the world.

According to him, the University as part of it vision was to provide excellent and incomparable hands-on training and support system to stimulate the needed innovations capable of addressing the needs of industry and society.

He thanked AmaliTech for choosing TTU among the lot of options and pledged to deliver a training that lends itself to more student-centred learning settings.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Amalitech, Martin Hecker was delighted about the collaboration between the two institutions to provide a first-class global training and recruitment opportunities for the youth of the country. “We are delighted to collaborate with TTU, one of the leading universities in the country for new opportunities for joint pursuits, especially in the area of research and technology.”

He also indicated that the signing of the MOU means that there is already a hope for the youth to explore the several opportunities exist in the IT and Digital industry. “This is a very strong force that we all can benefit from, and in particular the young people can benefit from it. Amalitech serve to basically create jobs and serve companies in Europe in need of digital service”, he added.

Mr. Hecker further revealed that as part of the agreement, AmaliTech was to provide the state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities (Computers, servers and network equipment) to enhance teaching and learning to the students to be recruited under this programme.

Explaining the recruitment processes, the CEO indicated advertisement will be made in the public space for interested persons to apply and after series of procedures the qualified candidates will be selected to undertake the training and subsequently recruited into the European market for employment. The project which is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2019 is expected to start with at least 300 students
